Grown on the slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, this coffee from Isaac Obua comes from one of the most interesting coffee regions in the country. Mount Elgon is an ancient extinct volcano that today forms a vast massif on the border between Uganda and Kenya; its slopes offer a particularly fertile environment for arabica.Isaac Obua's lot brings together three emblematic varieties of the region, Nyasaland, SL14 and SL28, a trio representative of Elgon's coffee heritage. The washed process reinforces the readability of the cup and puts the emphasis on cleanliness and aromatic structure. In the cup, caramel, milk chocolate and orange build a dense, indulgent profile, with a brown sweetness recalling caramel and a soft acidity with notes of orange. Milk chocolate brings balance without transforming the coffee. A resolutely indulgent cup. Roasted for espresso.
