A coffee with unique and distinct flavours of bell pepper, habanero and tropical fruit. Caturron is a local Colombian cultivar discovered in Huila — DNA testing suggests it's a crossing between Hibrido de Timor (Arabica x Robusta) and Bourbon or Caturra, genetically close to Variedad Colombia but uniform, with distinct oblong beans and good resistance to leaf rust. It's grown on Finca Tamana, a 57-hectare plantation between El Pital and La Plata in Huila, Colombia, acquired by Elias Roa in 2011 and today farmed by Elias Roa and Bellanid Sanchez, harvested May–July 2025.The Caturron is a very distinct coffee with an intense herbal and floral flavour reminiscent of habanero chilies (without the heat), wild and fruity in character — some local cuppers who first tasted it thought something had gone wrong, before it became clear this was simply this cultivar's consistent flavour profile.
